Provides comprehensive,
compassionate services, support and education in the community to persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Case
Management
Provides case
management and client advocacy services to eligible individuals who need assistance in accessing medical care and/or social
services. Services include information and referral, ongoing case monitoring and referrals to in-house services of residential
skilled nursing and hospice care, long-term tenant based rental assistance, hot meal program, adjunctive therapies of massage
and acupuncture, dental care, food vouchers, transportation and emergency financial assistance, and outside services of medical
care, mental health and substance abuse counseling, food bank, health insurance, medication assistance, legal assistance,
and other services as needed.
Eligibility
requirements: HIV+. Meets income requirements, and reside in the San Antonio EMA/HSDA

Emergency
Financial Assistance
Provides emergency payments for essential utilities and medication assistance when
there are no other resources available and to ensure continued access to medical care and essential utilities.

Clinical/Medical
Care—Residential Skilled Nursing and Hospice Care
A 41-bed special
care facility licensed by the State of Texas. Provides 24-hour skilled nursing and hospice care including, but not limited
to, IV therapy, wound care, palliative care, attendant care for feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating and medication
administration. In addition to nursing care, residents can receive meals, handicapped accessible transportation to all medical
and social service appointments and lab and medication pick-ups, massage therapy and acupuncture, dental care, case management
services, substance abuse and mental health counseling, recreational activities, hair salon, and pastoral care.
Eligibility
Requirements: HIV+ and in need of skilled nursing or hospice care. Does not have to reside in the San Antonio EMA/HSDA, but
must have an established medical provider in the San Antonio EMA/HSDA

Complementary/Holistic
Health Care
Provides 45
sessions of massage therapy and acupuncture by licensed practitioners. Limited funding has curtailed
free massage and acupuncture.
However,
William Godley, RMT, is providing massages at the same location on his own for a nominal charge. Massages
are also available for effected family members at a slightly higher fee. Call him direct at 387.6292.
Leslie
Ball is also providing acupuncture at a nominal fee. Call 225.4715 for information on this important service to our
community.

Requirements: HIV+. Meets income requirements, and reside in the San Antonio EMA/HSDA

sliding scale for those who do not meet income requirements. Must have physician’s orders for particular therapy.

Services
Provides preventive
and restorative dental care in a private office setting. No cosmetic dental care provided. First visit includes development
of a treatment plan.

Education
Program— You’re the
Cure
Offers a unique
approach in delivering HIV prevention education to middle, high school-age youth and young adults. The program provides for
an integration of factual information, discussions about the social implications of the AIDS epidemic and availability and
procedures of HIV testing.

Requirements: Available to schools, jails/prisons, worksites, etc.

Provides free,
nutritious, hot meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) 365 days a year. Menu reviewed for appropriate HIV diet by dietician of
the FFACTS Clinic of UHS.
